Both the holy oil used in devotional purposes and the prayer card constitute Third Class Relics. They were moved by a piece of the True Cross of Our Lord as well as a first-class relic of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Padre Pio.
The oil in each bottle is 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and is scented with jasmine and lavender. There is a piece of paper with the Prayer for the Intercession of Saint Pio that is included with the bottle.
Relics have been revered by the faithful since the beginning of Christianity. Objects associated with Jesus, bones, clothing, and other items left behind by martyrs and holy men and women of the religion were included. We recall the beautiful Gospel text about the bleeding woman who was healed by touching Jesus' cloak and her faith, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed" (Matthew 9:21).
